Lucretia Gail Lucy, age 73, of Purcell, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at her home after a brief battle with Leukemia.

Lucretia was born February 10, 1945, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was the middle child of three, born to Bonnie Washington Farris and Anna Loretta (Hart) Farris.   Lucretia grew up west of Shawnee and attended Bethel High School, graduating in 1963.   While in high school she was a standout basketball player.   Lucretia married Jack David Lucy on Nov. 10, 1962, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They remained living there until Jack finished his education at OSU.   Lucretia and Jack raised two children, Greg and Michelle.   They lived in Dallas for many years while her children were growing up and in school. During that time she worked at home as a homemaker and also outside the home, working at SJA Brokerage.

In 1991, she and Jack moved to Purcell and bought the Purcell Farm Store. They renamed it Purcell Farm and Ranch Supply and still operate it today with their son Greg. Lucretia loved gardening and raising flowers. While living in Purcell, she at one time owned a garden store called the “Garden Station.” Lucretia was active in the Purcell Gladiolus Garden Club, the Purcell Chamber and was a Rotary Cook. For the past few years she has been an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell. Lucretia’s hobbies were gardening and rooting for the OSU Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by:
Parents,               Bonnie and Loretta Farris.

She is survived by:
Husband,             Jack Lucy of the home in Purcell,

Son,                     Greg Lucy and wife Brenda of Purcell,

Daughter,            Michelle Whitaker and husband Patrick of Dallas.

Brother,               Dwaine Farris of Nowata, OK,

Sister,                  Sharon McCormick and husband Chuck of Collinsville, OK,

Four grandchildren,     Amory, Heather, Jackson and Georgia,

One great grandchild,      Asia,

Fifteen nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel, Purcell, OK.

Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
