Kathaleen L. "Kay" (Dykema) Kenroy

Funeral services for Kathaleen (Kay) Kenroy, 89, of Purcell were held Feb. 27, 2013 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kevin Strum officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Kenroy left this world to be with the lord on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at her home in Purcell,.

Kay was born on July 25, 1923 in Wayne Co. Michigan. Kay was the youngest of three children born to Walter Dykema and Linna (Draper) Dykema. She grew up and went to school in Grand Ledge, Michigan.

Kay later married Mack H. Jones, Jr. In 1945. In 1960, Mack passed away in an automobile accident and Kay was left to raise their five children. In 1967, Kay married Ronald V. Kenroy. They first lived in Michigan then in 1970 moved to the Norman-Purcell area.

For many years, Kay worked as a waitress and bartender for the Fred & Modean’s Tavern in Purcell.

She cherished her family and especially her grandchildren.Kay never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Lexington American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, The Rebecca’s and the Norman Moose Lodge. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Kay was preceded in death by: her parents, Walter and Linna Dykema; two husbands, Mack H. Jones Jr. And Ronald V. Kenroy; two great-grandchildren, Shelby Beck and Kayla Jones; one brother, Laurel Dykema and one sister, Jessie Brent.

Kay leaves behind five children and their spouses, Sandra Wright of Purcell, Sherwood and Linda Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., Douglas and Debbie Jones of Little Ax, Okla., Dennis and Thelma Jones of Purcell and Ernie and Suda Summers of Fort Cobb, Okla.; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Also her special friends Linda Tate, Jenny Mitchell and Mary Ille.
