Minnie Aloise Bivens age 91 of League City, TX passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 in Webster, TX.

Minnie was born on March 31, 1925 in Cement, OK. She was the 4th of five children born to Luther Austin Murphey and Irma Mable (Daniels) Murphey. Minnie grew up a farm girl where she learned how to work hard. She graduated from Cement High School with the class of 1943. Two months later she married R. E. “Dink” Bivens on July 7, 1943 in Chickasha, OK. After marrying, they lived in California while Dink was stationed in the U.S. Army. Then in 1945 they moved to South Houston, TX where they raised two children, Jerry and Judy. She went on to raise another son, her grandson Josh. Minnie worked hard as a mother, wife and homemaker. She also worked outside of the home for many years working for Camco Oil Supply Co. where she later retired. After retiring, she and Dink left South Houston and moved to Muldrow, OK in 1992. She lived in Muldrow until 2011 and at that time she moved to League City, TX to live with her son. Throughout her life, Minnie enjoyed taking trips to Oklahoma every year to visit family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Luther and Irma Murphey Husband, R. E. “Dink” Bivens in 1998, 3 Sister, Mable Gray, Nadine Byrd and Eleanor Murphey, Brother, Austin Murphy;

She is survived by: Daughter, Judy Lawhorn and husband John of Anna, TX, Son, Jerry Bivens of League City, TX; Three grandchildren, Barbie Martin and husband Ryan of Muldrow, OK, Sarah Bivens of Huntsville, TX, Joshua Bivens of League City, TX; One great granddaughter, Paige Yoakum of Muldrow, OK; Several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
