Herbert Lamar Cox, 81, of Norman, Oklahoma peacefully graduated to heaven on December 19th, 2023.

He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1942 to Lamar Wallace Cox and Fannie Pauline Wolf-Cox. He was the youngest of four children.

Herbert attended John Marshall High School before joining the Air Force where he served as an aviation mechanic for 6 years. Herb continued with his master skills and worked as an auto-mechanic for over 40 years while he pursued one of his favorite hobbies, auto-racing.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Pauline Cox; wife, Patricia Ann Fuller-Cox; and daughters, Deborah Carol Cox-Ball and Barbie Nicole Cox-Nicolle.

Herb is survived by his two sons, Todd Lamar Cox and wife Stella, and Matthew Paul Cox and wife Lezli; step-children, Cydney Metz, Christopher Dreier and wife DeAnna, and Alison Carr; grandchildren, Janine Miller and husband Terrell, Zachary Williams and wife Christina, Aaron Ball and wife Sarah, Raelyn Cox, Matthew Cox and wife Katera, Jesse Lamar Cox and wife Jazelle, Jacob Cox and wife Taylor, and Jillian Cox; step-grandchildren, Ryan Metz, Abigail Sheehy and husband Jacob, and Bennett Burgad; great-grandchildren, Tianna Hernandez, Jaiden Gann, Jahzara Miller, Marcella Cox, Amirabelle Cox, and Elandria Cox; siblings, Wallace Cox and wife Julie, Dixie Nixon and husband Leroy Paul (Jerry), and Sarah Folsom.

Celebration of life will begin for Herb at the Folsom-Cox Family Cemetery in Blanchard, Oklahoma, on Monday, January 16th, 2024, at 10:00 am, where Military Honors will pay tribute. Due to limited parking, graveside services are reserved for the family. The commemoration will gracefully transition to the Blanchard Pioneer Library Community Room, offering a warm space for all to gather, share memories, and honor Herb's life.
