Loyal Celes Cox, 72, of Blanchard, died June 28, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma. The son of Martha Alice (Lemmon) and Virgil Celes Cox, he was born October 17, 1939 in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma. Loyal served in the United States Army and married Loretta Fay Weaver on May 7, 1961 in Hammon, Oklahoma. He was employed by Fred Jones Manufacturing and enjoyed swimming, gardening, and tinkering on his tractor. Loyal was a member of the Church of Christ and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and family.


He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, John F. Cox, twin sister, Lois Robertson, and sister, Lena Fay Copeland.


He is survived by his wife, Loretta Cox, of Blanchard; daughters, Daphne Celeste Babcock and husband Buck of Oklahoma City, Melanie Renee White and husband Johnny of Blanchard, and Lesa Ann Blazer and husband Mark of Moore; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Loye Gene Cox and wife Lorene of Oklahoma City; sisters, Eva Jackson of Lone Oak, Texas, Leta Novotny of Okemah, and Lucille Bryant and husband Gary of Petal, Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.


Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard with interment held in the Dibble Cemetery, Dibble, Oklahoma.
