Raymond Earl Arnold, age 72, of Dibble, was called home on Monday, August 12, 2013 after a long illness with COPD. Ray was born November 19, 1940 in Oklahoma City. He was the older of two children born to Earl and Vera Arnold. Ray grew up in the Oklahoma City, Moore and Norman area where he attended school. At age 16, he moved to San Francisco to live with his dad and there he finished high school. Ray later enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served four years while stationed in Alaska. After being honorably discharged he lived a short time in Wyoming before moving back home to Norman. He began working for John Roberts Ring MFG Co. where he met the love of his life, Hazel Hackney. They were married on December 29, 1969 and made their home in Norman. They later moved to Dibble where they built the home they have shared for more than 45 years. Ray was a city boy but he loved country living. He liked raising chickens and turkeys, racing pigeons, pigmy goats, and he of course loved bird hunting with his loyal friends and his dogs, Kate, Mac, Dude, Brutus and Jake. Ray was of the Baptist faith and was proud to claim Iron Chapel Free Will Baptist Church as his home. Although Ray and Hazel never shared any children, they more than made up for it with many nieces and nephews. He loved and was loved by everyone.

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Earl and Vera Arnold; Nephew, David Moose; His favorite mother-in-law, Maw Hackney and His grandparents.

Ray leaves behind: His wife, Hazel of the home; His sister, Sherri Moose and husband Albert of Oklahoma City, and Their 3 children and grandchildren Also a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at the Iron Chapel Free Will Baptist Church near Dibble. Burial will follow at the Dibble Cemetery.
