Monty Ray Loveless Sr., age 82 of Bridge Creek, formerly of Byars, OK, passed away Wednesday June 4, 2014 at his home. Monty was born January 11, 1932 in Byars, OK. He was the 2nd child of 5 children born to Theodore Edgar Loveless and Letha Green (Haynes) Loveless. Monty grew up a farm boy living north of Byars. He learned how to work hard as a young man and he continued that same work ethic throughout his life. When he was a young boy he attended the Johnsonville and King small country schools. His later years of schooling were in Wanette. After high school, he joined the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Korean War. During this time, Monty engaged in combat as part of the 45th Infantry Division, one of the most highly decorated units in the 20th century. Monty was a natural at driving, even when he was young. His love for driving led him to his lifelong profession in the transportation and trucking industry. He spent the later part of his life, working in the Phoenix area where he retired. It wasn’t too long until he moved back home to Oklahoma to be close to his devoted son, Monty Jr. In his younger years, Monty was an avid outdoorsman, a hunter and marksman. He spent many, many hours roaming and hunting along the creeks and the South Canadian River in the Byars and Wanette area. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Theodore and Letha Loveless and His brother, Jeral Dean Loveless.

Monty leaves behind: His sons, Monty Ray Loveless Jr and wife Courtney of Bridge Creek; Monty Dewayne Loveless and wife Colleen of Maine; One brother, Leroy Loveless and wife Janet of Marlow; Two sisters, Lanell Lee of Moore, Marquita Capps and husband Earl of Moore; 4 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and host of other family and friends.
