Dorothy Pearl Wooten, 87, of Blanchard, died Sunday, February 19, 2017, in Oklahoma City. She was born March 17, 1929, in Blanchard, Oklahoma to George Augub Bashara and Lizzie (Batris) Bashara.

She grew up in Bridge Creek and graduated from Bridge Creek High School in 1947. Dorothy married Billy Gene Wooten on October 10, 1953 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. She worked for many years in the banking industry and was Protestant in faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, tending to her roses, sewing, and making crafts. Dorothy was an excellent cook and made the best homemade bread and desserts. She was a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Thelma Wilson, and two brothers, Frank Bashara and Mike Bashara.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bill Wooten of Blanchard; one daughter, Darlene Wooten of Oklahoma City; two sons, Larry Wooten of Oklahoma City, and Gary Wooten and wife, Corlis, of Texas; two grandchildren, Gary Wooten, Jr. and Jennifer Wooten, both of Texas; one sister-in-law, Lydia Wooten of Oklahoma City; a niece, Carolyn Myers of Arizona; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.

The family will be at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the funeral to receive friends.

Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
