Duane Ward, 80, of Yukon, died Friday, November 9, 2012 in Oklahoma City. The son of Luther Levi and Mary Annabell (Southard) Ward, he was born December 15, 1931 in Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Duane attended Blanchard Schools and graduated from Blanchard High School. He married the love of his life, Ella Arizetta Rockwell, on March 24, 1950. Duane spent many years in the grocery business and enjoyed spending time with his customers and friends, visiting and telling stories. After his retirement, he and his wife became “snowbirds,” spending their summers in Colorado and their winters in South Texas. He was a Baptist in faith and was an active supporter of missions in South Texas. They moved back to Oklahoma and made their home in Yukon in 1993. Duane enjoyed playing golf and was an avid basketball fan. He loved watching the Mustang Lady Broncos and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty (Ward) Sellers.

Duane is survived by his wife, Zetta Ward of Yukon; two daughters, Diane Francis of El Reno and Denise Perhane of Mustang; one son, Don Ward and his wife Dalana of Mustang; five grandchildren. Shawn Collins, Kevin Collins, Callie Ward, Haley Mitchell, and Kyle Ward; four great grandchildren, Brittany Collins, Jacob Collins, Tyler Collins, and Auttie Grace Collins; and many other loved ones and friends.

Graveside funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Blanchard Cemetery with Reverend Michael Staton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
