October 02, 1978 - October 03, 2023

Submitted by: Jo Aguirre

Kristy Denise Ransome (45) of Blanchard, died, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in Norman. The daughter of Linda Marlene (Rose) and Dale Whitaker and Gerald Wayne Ransome, she was born October 2, 1978, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Kristy received training to be a LPN. She also showed her caring spirit by being the family and friend’s dog and cat sitter. She loved to care for, play with and love on many pets left in her care. Because of her health she wasn’t always able to work many hours, but her work ethic and commitment was very much appreciated at Crest Foods where she worked for a little over a year, most recently.

Kristy enjoyed swimming, fishing and hanging out with friends, especially at the lake around a campfire. She loved socializing with friends in person as well as on Facebook. She always had a funny post or meme to entertain her friends. She had a great sense of humor.

Kristy was a fighter. She never gave up. Even though she had fought kidney disease all of her life, endured two kidney transplants, many treatments, and most recently a heart attack, her family said she would never “pull the sick card.”

Kristy liked being self sufficient and tackling fix-it jobs and repairs. If she didn’t have the knowledge, she would research YouTube and accomplish it. She will be greatly missed by everyone that was blessed to know her.

Kristy is preceded in death by her grandparents, JB and Ola Rose, Beulah and Rex Ransome, and Nelson and Leona Whitaker; a special uncle, William Sanders; and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her parents, Linda and Dale Whitaker of Blanchard; father, Gerald Ransome of Minco; sisters, Tanya Ransome and Melissa Mason and husband Kyle all of Blanchard; step brothers and sister, Michael Whitaker and wife Kristi, Melvin Whitaker and Dusty Whitaker; niece and nephews, Brett Mason, Brooklyn Mason and Keenan Kriyanek; aunts and uncles, Terry Ransome, Sharon Crim, Bernadine Ware, Joyce Sanders, Vivian Poole, Virgie Hamilton, Darrel Rose, Kenneth Rose, Geleta Hickman, and Loreta Rose; and other loving family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.
