Willie Joe “Bill” Moon, 86, of Blanchard, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, in Blanchard. The son of Oliver William Moon and Dora Lee (Sparks) Moon, he was born November 27, 1929 in Blanchard.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany during World War II. He worked for Unit Parts for many years and was later employed and retired from Oklahoma University where he worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Blanchard. Bill enjoyed helping anyone and everyone using his extensive carpentry skills.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louie, Orville, Doug, Junior, and Alva Harm “Buddy”; and two sisters, Marie Anderson and Sybil Wright.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Moon; one daughter, Barbara Schilberg and her husband, Dean; two sons, Shawn and his wife, Debbie, of Blanchard and Shane Moon, all of Blanchard; six grandchildren, Jason Schilberg, Angel Schilberg, Cassie Moon, Merritt Moon, Zachery Moon, and Tiffany Moon; five great grandchildren, Justyn Adams, Aydin Moon, Kadynce O’Neal, Olivia Warren, and Tre’von O’Neal; and many other loved ones and friends.

Graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
