Ardis James “Jim” Graves, of Palestine, Texas, passed away on June 27, 2023. The son of George Wallace Graves and Martha Lou (Mandoza) Graves, he was born on June 9, 1948, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Jim attended high school in Jones, Oklahoma. After high school he joined the military and proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and had multiple medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Jim adored being with his family and especially loved his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, drinking beer, watching football, and he loved to dance. He will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Wallace Graves and Martha Lou (Mandoza) Graves; one infant brother, Roger Dale Graves; one daughter, Cristi Tawn Graves; and one son, David Shawn Graves.

Jim is survived by one sister, Ladonna Gail Booth and her husband, Paul; two daughters, Cari Dawn Graves and Chena Fawn Thompson and her husband, Eddie; one son, Cody Lynn Graves; five grandchildren, Cherokee, Avin Lynn Graves, Andrea LaRae Graves, Andrew Liam Graves, and Arthur James Graves; one niece, Kim; one nephew, Keith; two special friends whom he lived with in the final years of his life, Frank and Terre Compton; and many more loving family members and friends.

Viewing will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard, Oklahoma. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, July 3, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard, Oklahoma. Online obituary and guestbook will be available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
