William Fuentes, Sr., 82, of Oklahoma City, died May 11, 2012 in Des Moines, Iowa. The son of Neta Mildred (Whitman) and Agustin Fuentes, he was born March 31, 1930 in Alice, Texas.

William was a pastor for 38 years serving churches in south Texas and Oklahoma City. The last 14 years of his ministry he pastored the First Hispanic Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed Dallas Cowboys Football and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Berta Fuentes; son, Daniel Fuentes; sister, Roberta Castro; and brother, Manuel Fuentes.

He is survived by his son, William Fuentes, Jr. and his wife Jaymi of Oklahoma City; daughters, Bertha Zitterkob and her husband Rodney of Oklahoma City, Nora Welchel and her husband Ronnie of Blanchard, Wendy Powell and her husband James of Johnston, Iowa, Lora Self of Oklahoma City, and Sarah Dutton and her husband John of Oklahoma City; daughter-in-law, Sherry Fuentes of Blanchard; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Sammy Fuentes of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Bernice Saenz and Mildred Gonzales, both of Corpus Christi, Texas and Anita Cortez of San Antonio, Texas; many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard with Reverend William Fuentes, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
