Clifton Leo Dougherty, 69, of Newcastle, died April 10, 2012 at his home. The son of Ottie Faye (Ford) and Leo Munford Dougherty, he was born August 12, 1942 in Breckenridge, Texas. Cliff was a member of the Whispering Pines Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, working puzzles, woodworking, and playing computer games but his greatest passion was music. He loved playing instruments, listening to music, and singing in the Good News Quartet. Cliff enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their football, basketball, and baseball games.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Zoria of Newcastle; daughters, Patrice LaNell Wesnidge and her husband Steve of Newcastle, Kimberly Dawn O’Dell and her husband Larry of Newcastle; five grandchildren, Steven Wesnidge, Christian Haggard, Alexandria O’Dell, Braxton O’Dell, all of Newcastle, and Josh Wesnidge of Ft. Myer, Virginia; brother, Lester Lee Dougherty and his wife Karen of Blanchard; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Whispering Pines Church of Christ in Tuttle. Glen Osborn and Cliff Arney will officiate with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
