Thurmon Cole, 80, of Blanchard, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Blanchard. The son of Roy Cole and Bertie (Casey) Cole, he was born July 27, 1935 in Rogers County, Oklahoma.
 
Thurmon married Adda Mae LaVerne Byars on February 16, 1954, in Bethany, Oklahoma. He worked for many years as a truck driver and was Christian in faith. In his spare time, Thurmon enjoyed leatherwork and playing the guitar. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaVerne Cole; grandson, Jeffrey Jones; sister, Dovie Alstrom; and two brothers, Royal Cole and Lawrence Cole.
 
He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Johnson and her husband, Steve, of Blanchard, Karen Wallace and her husband, Walley, of Oklahoma City, and Susan Fitzwater and her husband, Travis, of Choctaw; two sons, Mark Cole and his wife, Brenda, of Blanchard and Tim Cole and his wife, Rita, of Elmore City; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; five sisters, Ruby Jones of Arkansas, Patsy Thomason of Muskogee, Linda Bynum of Muskogee, Pauline Hall of Muskogee, and Shirley Yount of Fort Gibson; three brothers, Houston Cole of Arkansas, Rayburn Cole of Blanchard, and Vernon Cole of Texas; and many other loved ones and friends.
 
Graveside service and burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., October 28, 2015 at Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
