Merine Pearl Cole, 84, of Newcastle, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at her home. The daughter of James Robert and Lula Pearl (Pritchard) Sikes, she was born June 12, 1928 in Direct, Texas. Merine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. She kept a beautiful flower garden and was a member of the Oklahoma Iris Society and Daylily Society. At one time, her garden was a part of the National Tour of Iris Societies and was visited by busloads of people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neilan Jack Cole in 1990; two sons, Neilan Earl Cole and John Robert Cole; a brother, Troy Sikes; and son-in-law, John Stone.

Merine is survived by her daughter, Kathy Cole and Kenny Robertson of Newcastle; two grandchildren, Jennifer Dianne Smith and husband, Ryan, of Oklahoma City, and Neilan Cole Shunkwiler of Mexico; two great granddaughters, Aydan Renee Smith and Arlynn Elizabeth Smith; two brothers, David Sikes and his wife, Margaret, of Austin, Texas and Jerry Sikes and his wife, Vicky, of Owasso; a sister-in-law, Joyce Sikes of Denison, Texas; and many other loved ones and friends.

Graveside funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
