George Nealon Bussey, 80, of Noble, died Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in Norman, Oklahoma. The son of John Lee Bussey and Lillie Bell (Townley) Bussey, he was born April 18, 1936, in Konawa, Oklahoma.

George was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War, and retiring after 21 years of service. He married Mary Ellen Kirby on July 18, 1981 in Collinsville, Illinois. He worked for many years as a school custodian and attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Noble. In his spare time, George enjoyed building things, farming, and raising cattle. He was a talented musician and loved to play guitar and sing bluegrass music.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Aline Pearcy; and two brothers, Johnny Bussey, and Reuben “Bud” Bussey.

George is survived by his wife, Mary Bussey of Noble; two daughters, Theresa Herbert and husband, Dale, of Akron, Ohio, and Tia Crittenden and Rich McGee of Tuttle; three granddaughters, Krista McKenzie and Robert Patton of Moore, Ashley McKenzie and Clint Hawkins of Moore, and Brittany Crittenden of Moore; four great grandchildren, Richard, Aaron, Aspen, and Paisley; two brothers, Jerry Bussey and wife, Treva, of Blanchard, and Jeral Bussey and wife, Paula, of McAlester; a sister-in-law, Wanda Bussey of McAlester; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.

Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
