Calvin Trumer Burns, 94, of Blanchard, died August 12, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma. The son of Lydia Margaret (Howard) and William Calvin Burns, he was born August 12, 1918 in Francis, Oklahoma.

He worked for many years as a carpenter and enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. Before the new highway came through Blanchard, Calvin and his wife spent countless hours sitting on their front porch and waving at every car that passed by.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Belle Burns; daughter, Wanda Faye Burns; one great grandchild; three sisters and two brothers.

Calvin is survived by his daughter, Cloreta Mattox of Oklahoma City; sons, Danny Burns and wife Cindy of Norman and Gene Burns and wife Marion of Blanchard; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; sister, Verna May Stephens of Washington, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
