Raymond Albert “Ray” Bowring, 81, of Blanchard, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 in Norman, Oklahoma. The son of Raymond Harold Bowring and Mildred Irene (Pearcy) Bowring, he was born December 3, 1933 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Ray worked for many years as a mechanic and then began farming. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vina Lou (Clanton) Bowring; two grandchildren, Stephanie Pack and Tabitha Carlton; two great grandchildren, Derrick Carlton and Madison Carlton; and a sister, Geneva Clanton.

Ray is survived by one daughter, Jana Pack and husband, Mike, of Alex; four sons, Billy Ray Bowring and wife, Edna, of Yantis, Texas, David “Bo” Bowring and wife, LaVita, of Blanchard, Roger Bowring and wife, Robin, of Blanchard, and Shawn Bowring of Blanchard; eight grandchildren, Brandon Bowring and wife, Michelle, of Texas, Justin Bowring and wife, Heather, of Texas, Clint Bowring and wife, Julie, of Blanchard, Tanner Bowring of Blanchard, Brook Hays and husband, Preston, of Blanchard, Whitney Bowring of Dibble, Logan Bowring of Blanchard, and Kinsee Bowring of Blanchard; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Naweeta Shropshire and husband, Ron, of Blanchard, and Virginia Pierce of Oklahoma City; one brother, Jimmy Bowring and wife, Mary, of Blanchard; numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
