Nawana Carolene (Richey) Anderson, 78, of Blanchard, died Monday, September 2, 2013 in Norman, Oklahoma. The daughter of William Eugene and Mary Leon (Andrews) Richey, she was born June 15, 1935 in Blanchard. Nawana worked for many years as a secretary for Blanchard Schools until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blanchard where she was involved with the 3 G’s. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and working outdoors in her flowerbeds and yard. She was an excellent cook and spent countless hours baking goodies for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edsol F. Anderson; two brothers, Billy Gene and Ronald Dean Richey; and two infant grandsons, Jordan and Jacob Anderson.

Nawana is survived by her two sons, Jeff Anderson and his wife, Kathy, of Blanchard and Marc Anderson of Blanchard; three grandchildren, Kacy Wilson and her husband, Gregg of Blanchard, Cole Anderson of Blanchard, and Jona Anderson of Blanchard; two great grandchildren, Bode and Berkli Wilson; two sisters, Glenna Mills of Blanchard, and Charlotte Duta and her husband, Mike, of Turlock, California; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Interment will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
