Peggy Hazlett White, 93, of Madill passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in Lufkin Texas.

She was born on April 21,1930 to Ethel and Daniel Hazlett in Ashdown, Arkansas. Peggy was the valedictorian of the Madill High School class of 1947 and went to work in Ardmore shortly after graduation.

She met and then married John David White on November 27, 1952. Professionally, Peggy was a bookkeeper, first for Long's Bakery in New Orleans, then Watson Distributing in Houston. She finished her career with the Bariven Corporation and retired.  She and David returned to Madill to live after retirement. Peggy loved everything "Madill".  She was active in the Madill High School Alumni Association, serving as President for a time.  Her last years were spent in Lufkin, Texas with her daughter and son-in-law, but she never let go of Madill and its citizens.

Survivors include her sons, Paul David White (Leslie), Charles Daniel White, daughter Delena (Rick) Kroll, and beloved nephew James (Peggy) Settlif, grandchildren, David, Francis, Emily, John, and Bailey White, and Austin and Taylor Kroll.  She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel, her stepmother and Father Delena and Dan Hazlett, and her sister Patsy Taylor.

The Kroll Family would like to thank Pinnacle Senior Living caregivers Esmeralda Pena and Mayra Sanchez and her private sitter Adrianna Hernandez for their loving care and thoughtfulness.

All the Lord requires of us is to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.  Micah 6:8

A keepsake video is available through the funeral home.
