A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, for Vera Evelyn (Keyes) Vanderpool, 88, Madill, who died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004 at the Forest Hills Health Care Center, Tulsa. The Rev. Mike Massey will officiate and music will be arranged by Sarah Watts and Cindy Roberts.
 
She was born June 3, 1915 in Kingston to the late Robert Franklin and Addie Nolen Smith Keyes. She was raised in Kingston, graduated from Kingston High School in 1933, and later moved to Madill.
 
Vanderpool married M.S. "Scat" Vanderpool Nov. 25, 1937 in Sulphur, and he preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1977.
Vanderpool worked in sales and bookkeeping for Sharpe's Dry Goods several years, and later worked at Fort Washita as a receptionist. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Senior Citizens Center in Madill, and was a member of the Madill First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, working outdoors and playing dominoes.
 
Vanderpool was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Woodrow, Carl and Ralph Keyes and Elmer Smith, and sister Flodell (Keyes) Reeves.
 
Vanderpool is survived by daughter Marian Massey-Robison, Tulsa; son-in-law Bob Robison, Tulsa; grandsons Mike Massey and wife Dawnda, Anchorage, Alaska. and Greg and Kay Massey, Durant; great-grandchildren Abigal-Rebeckah, Boaz Andrew, Charity Anna, Dara Ruth, Elisabeth Joy, Faith Suzanna, Gabriel Josiah, Isaiah Bartholomew, John Michael, Micah Noah, Blake Lewis and Brooke Elizabeth; special friend O'Dell Cartwright, Madill; special friends and caregivers Rose Ringer, Kingston, and Doris Turner, Colbert; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
Burial will be in the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery with pallbearers Boaz Massey, Sam Huffman, Ronnie Hartin, Donnie Hartin, Chad Hartin, Tony Shelby, Troy Shelby, Harold Gene Watkins, Bob Pruitt, Doyle Blakely and Allen Wheeler.

Family hour will be 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Watts Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
