Mildred Korene Reimer, 89, of Enid, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Hensley Nursing Center in Sayre, Oklahoma. 

She was born on April 14, 1934, in Goltry, Oklahoma to the late Jay W. Porter and Cora Merle Bennett Porter. Korene was raised in Goltry and moved at a young age to Madill where she graduated high school in 1954.  She married Barney Joel Reimer on December 26, 1972, in Madill and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2001.  Korene moved to Enid, where she worked for Payless Nursery and Plants A Plenty.  She also planted and maintained several flower beds and gardens at different businesses in Enid.  She could make anything grow.  Korene volunteered with the Enid Retired Senior Volunteer Program, donated over 11,000 hours to RSVP.  She also volunteered at the American Legion, Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse, Enid Public Library, the Chisholm Trail Expo Center and helped with elections for the Garfield County Election Board.  Korene was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid.  She loved singing in the church choir and was privileged to accompany the choir on a trip to perform in Australia.     

Korene is survived by Children: Kory Reimer, Frederick, Oklahoma; Brady Reimer, Frederick, Oklahoma; Mike Reimer and wife Linda, Erick, Oklahoma; Elaine Zook and husband John, Waukomis, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Jody Zook, Ashley & Kenneth Slaton, Austin & Amanda Reimer, Ethan & Jesica Reimer, Korrynn Reimer, Dustin & Heidi Reimer, Lindsay Reimer, Logan Reimer. Great Grandchildren: Kelli & Sam Slaton, Anson Reimer, Kreed & Malorie Reimer, Owen & Henry Reimer, Dixie Reimer.

Korene was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, grandson: Cody Reimer, great granddaughter: Abilene Reimer and stepdaughter; Jill Burns Davis.  

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home, Enid, Ok R.S.V.P.
