William Robert Masters, 92 of Madill, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2007, at the hospital in Durant.

He was born in Hollis to the late James Daniel Masters and Martha Louise Price Masters on April 9, 1915. William was raised in Hollis and later moved to Mobile, Alabama. In 1936 he moved to Lawton, where he owned and operated the Masters Construction Company until 1964 when he retired. In 1964 he moved to Durant, where he started the Lindsay Soft Water Business until 1980 when he moved to Bridgeview. He married Estelle Browder. She preceded him in death in 1979. He later married Kathrine Pat Patterson in 1980. She preceded him in death in 2004. William was a member of the Cumberland Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by son Ken and wife, Ann Masters, Mt. Pleasant, Texas; daughter Loraine Masters, San Jose, California; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother R. B. Masters, Duke; sisters Alma Gallup, Edmond, Vera Warren, Tacoma, Washington.

William was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and son, William Donald Masters.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Cumberland Baptist Church, Cumberland. Rev. Virgil Hill will be officiating the service. Music is arranged by the Cumberland Baptist Church Choir.

Interment will be at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill. Casket bearers will be Todd Masters, Keith Masters, Curtis Masters, Brandon Lomping, Vincent Lomping and Justin Wilson.

Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Madill. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
