Pauline Maydred Cooksey

Pauline M. Cooksey was born January 5, 1917 in eastern Oklahoma to Cecilia and Bart Loftis. She passed away May 24, 2011 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years, 4 months and 19 days.
Pauline graduated from Madill High School and was married to Ralph Charles Cooksey. They moved to the Carter community where Ralph farmed. Pauline later graduated from Sayre Junior College and began working as an accountant for Hedland Motor Company and later Home Town Finance. After Ralph passed away Pauline moved to Elk City to make her home. Pauline was a Ham Radio operator and was a member of the Presbyterian and Merritt Quilting Clubs. She also volunteered at Helping Hands and the Thrift Store.
She was a member of the Elk City First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Wendelll and Gerald, 1 brother, 5 sisters and 1 grandson Marty Carl Cooksey.
She is survived by her 1 son, Maryon Cooksey and wife, Dollie, Mojave, CA; 8 Grandchildren, Barbara Newman, Billings, MT; SMSGT Paula Scheuble, Northern Japan; Paula Michel, California City, CA; Mechelle Ernst, Inyo, CA; Ronald Cooksey, Mustang, OK; Yolanda Meed, Ventura, CA; Ray Hutchison, Dallas, TX; and Ron, Oklahoma; 15 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson, host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 am at Whinery-Savage Chapel officiated by Rev. Greg Amen. Burial will be at Woodbury-Forrest Cemetery, Madill, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
