Ronald “Ron” Herbert Armitage, 76, of Cumberland, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at his home in Cumberland.

He was born on December 27, 1946, in Mt. Morris, Michigan to the late Herbert Alford Armitage and Mary Alice Curp Armitage. Ron was raised Mt. Morris and later moved to Dayton, Ohio, where he graduated from Stebbins High School.  In 1966 Ron joined the United States Air Force serving for four years during the Vietnam War Era.  He held a top-secret Crypto Clearance and worked at finding and decoding enemy communications. Also for almost 30 years Ron was a bi-vocational Pastor and a businessman. 

In 1976 he moved to Oklahoma and later married Brenda Sue Eddington on May 19, 1985, in Cumberland.  Over the years Ron pastored churches in Oklahoma and Missouri and was currently pastoring Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Madill. His first priority was preaching and sharing the gospel! Ron also enjoyed fishing, and loved being with his family, church family and friends.

Ron is survived by Wife: Brenda Sue Armitage, Cumberland, Oklahoma. Children: Kelly Blank and husband Rob, Dayton, Ohio; Ron Armitage Jr. Dayton, Ohio;            Michael Armitage and wife Colleen, Milan, Michigan; Matthew Armitage and wife Kayla, Durant, Oklahoma; Brian King and wife Connie, Springtown, Texas. Grandchildren: Jonathan Armitage; Jared King and wife Victoria; Hannah King; Adam Armitage; Payton Armitage; Lane Armitage; Cora Armitage; Henry Armitage; Landon Armitage; Reagan Armitage. Sisters: Doris Etue, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida;  

Ron was preceded by his parents, 2 brothers: Richard and Bob and 1 sister Cheryl Svec.

Memorials may be made to Hope for Marshall County.

Casket Bearers: David Wilson, Randy Cramer, Kenny Eddington, Richard Moore, Robert Moore, Kenny Harrison.  Honorary Bearers: Kenneth Duncan, Ray Allen Hoedebeck, Jared King.
