Funeral Services for Mrs. Margaret Ruth (McHargue) Payne, 90, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Monday, April 6th, 2015 at 10:00 a. m. in the Herb Clark Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ronny White officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Payne passed away on April
1st, 2015 at her daughter's home in Moore, Oklahoma. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE
FRIENDS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON FROM 2-5 pm AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
Margaret was born on July 15th, 1924 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Charlie McHargue and
Ruth Lee (Charbanue) McHargue. She married Johnnie Lee "Biggun" Payne on
September 14th, 1941 in Tishomingo. They had six children, Ronnie, Margie,
George, Johnna, Johnnie and Mary. They both worked had to provide for their
family, beginning in Marshall and Johnston Counties in Oklahoma. They moved to
Kermit, Texas in 1950 and lived there until returning to Tishomingo in 1969. Mr.
Payne preceded her in death on January 26th, 2009. The one thing they are
remembered for was their love of dancing together, especially the "Tennessee
Waltz". Both also loved spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ronnie Payne, a
great-grandchild, Corey Ray Green, five sisters, Pauline Goff, Frances Ray, Mary
Payne, Lillie White and Lela McHargue and three brothers, Melvin, Bobby and C.
S. MaHargue.
She is survived by her children, Margie Sealey and husband Leonard of Lawton,
Oklahoma, George Payne and wife Dixie of Odessa, Texas, Johnna Payne of Aubrey,
Texas, Johnnie Payne and wife Larece of Enos, Oklahoma and Mary Payne of Moore,
Oklahoma, her sister, Marie Clark of Tishomingo, 15 grandchildren, 31
great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews
and much loved other family and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Bret Tillery, Gerald Sealey, Billy Payne,
Chris Hinds, Jordan Maracara and Joe Payne, Jr. Honorary Bearers are: Perry
Payne, Jerry Payne, Bobby Payne, Charles Payne and Roy Reece.
