Evanell "Eva" (Lafery) Brewer

Evanell (Eva) Brewer 80, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Alliance Health Hospital in Durant, Oklahoma.

She was born on November 9, 1936 in Haskell, Oklahoma to the late B. M. LaFery and Dorthy Winnefred Best LaFery. Eva was raised in Washington, DC and later in Oklahoma City where she graduated from John Marshall High School in 1954. She joined the United States Marine Corps and served from 1954 to 1956. Eva married Jimmie D. Brewer in 1959 in Gainesville, Texas. In 1977, she attended Southwestern Christian University in Oklahoma City where she received an Associate's Degree in Religious Education. While living in Oklahoma City Eva worked for several insurance companies including Farmers Insurance Company. She was also the former Educational Director at Knob Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. In 1980, she moved to Kingston and worked at TG&Y, and Bank First in the record department. Eva was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church in Kingston and was the former Associational Director of Women's Missionary Union in Marshall County. She taught both adult and children in Sunday School and other classes since 1965.

She is survived by:
Husband: Jimmie Brewer, Kingston, Oklahoma
Children: Linda Wolfe, Roanoke, Texas; Julie Ross, Durant, Oklahoma

Grandchildren: Lisa Scott and Husband Matt, Tommy Merritt, Tonya Green, Chris Walters, Jackey Ross, Andrew Ramey, Ashley (Wolfe) Cline, Joshua Ross

Great Grandchildren: Austin, Braden, Christine, David, Kensley Lorraine Janine, Brantley Kyle and Numerous other Great Grandchildren.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters; Brenda Waters and Carla Ramey, 1 Son in-law; Jack Ross, 1 Grandson; Jackey Ross III, 2 brothers; Warren and Junior LaFery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm at Watts Funeral Home , Madill, Oklahoma.

Services will be Friday, May 5, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Cross Roads Baptist Church, Kinston, Oklahoma. Eric Dennis will officiate the service.

Interment will be at the Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, Oklahoma.

Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home , Madill, Oklahoma.
