Services for Sadie Keel Homer, 87, were Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Craddock Memorial Chapel, Ardmore, with Rev. Roger Wood officiating.

Born April 18, 1905, in Pickens County, I.T., to Colbert and Caroline Alexander Keel, Mrs. Homer died October 15, 1992, at her home.

Mrs. Homer was a retired nurse, having been employed at the McBride Bone and Joint Hospital, Oklahoma City, for many years. She had resided in Ardmore since her retirement in 1955. An original Chickasaw enrollee, she was a great-granddaughter of Edmund Pickens, first elected Chickasaw Chief following the tribe's removal from the old Chickasaw Nation east of the Mississippi River. Mrs. Homer was a past officer of the Bloomfield Carter Seminary Alumni Association, a member of the Ohoyohoma Club (Indian woman) of Ardmore, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Amaranth Temple No. 24. She was past secretary of the Keel Cemetery Association and a member of Fort Washita Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Homer was preceded in death by her husband, David Aaron Homer, on December 9, 1983; her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Interment was in the Keel Cemetery, north of Lebanon. Services were under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home, Ardmore, with Fred George, Charles Thomas, Iverson Liddell, James Keel, Charles F. Dean, and Wesley Liddell, Jr., serving as pallbearers.
