Carolyn's happy heart was born into this world July 6, 1946, in Lompoc, CA. Her father, Paul Couts, WWII veteran and P.O.W., moved the family all across the country throughout Carolyn's childhood. In 1959, her mother, Billie, whom she always considered a saint, brought the three children back home to Oklahoma City, OK. Carolyn always felt that when her stepfather, Marvin Kinsey, also a WWII veteran, and his five children entered her family's lives in 1962, that a great family had been completed, and that it was then that some of the very best times of her life began. Marvin and Billie moved the family to Cumberland Cove on Lake Texoma, and over a thirty year period the Kinsey-Couts family created an unforgettable life together. "Nanny and Papa's Place" on the lake would see weekends of over 30 visitors and it was a place that Carolyn and so many others in the family would forever hold dear. Carolyn was a student of life, she was a book collector, an artist, a writer, an adven turer, and exhibited a natural creative talent. She was always in the pursuit of knowledge and in her late thirties, she continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. Carolyn started to work at age 14, and in her 54 years, she worked at an array of jobs, from machinist to substitute teacher, to prosthetics counselor, and newspaper representative; but through it all, the job that Carolyn always considered the utmost important was that of being a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a grandmother. With her family, Carolyn always felt she had been truly blessed.
