Square Cedar Cemetery


A private graveside service for Doris Long Walters, age 83 of Enid, will be held Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Square Cedar Cemetery at Cleo Springs. Bill Reed will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Mrs. Walters was born December 22, 1926 to Don E. Long and Beulah Keesecker Long, in Enid, OK and she died Feb. 25, 2010 at her farm in Ringwood. She attended Garfield Elementary school, Longfellow Junior High and graduated from Enid High School in 1944, and attended Enid Business College. She was married to Robert H Walters on June 9, 1948.

Mrs. Walters was em-ployed at the District Attor-ney’s Office for twenty-three years, prior to her retirement in February 1992.

She was a member of the Followers of Christ Church since November, 1945.

She is survived by a son, Mitchel Walters of Ringwood, OK; a daughter, Terri Walters of Ring-wood, OK, a daughter, Joanna Walters Bates of Houston, TX; three grandchildren: Chelsea Parady, Marshall Bates and Mor-gan Bates, and one great-granddaughter, Trinity Parady. She is also survived by her half-brother, Danny Long.

Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her parents and by her adoptive parents, Gladys Oakley and Glenn Oakley.

Memorials may be made to the Followers of Christ Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
