Square Cedar Cemetery


The funeral for Mary L. Simons, 66, of Ringwood, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Glorious Church, east of Cleo Springs. The Rev. Thomas LeGrand will officiate. Burial will be in Square Cedar Cemetery, Cleo Springs. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today with the family present 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born Aug. 12, 1943, in El Reno to John and Beulah Hollingsworth Smith and died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at her home.

She finished her high school education in Ringwood.

She married Carl Simons Jan. 3, 1961, in Fairview. They settled in Ringwood. She helped start a senior citizen transport service that later became MAGB. She worked for MAGB for more than 25 years.

She attended Glorious Church for many years and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She was secretary for the Ringwood Alumni Association for many years.

Surviving are her husband, Carl; three children, Carlene Barahona of Enid, Roger Simons of Garber and Jo Ann Belvin of Arlington, Texas; stepmother, Alma Nievar of Del City; and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer research, or Hospice Circle of Love.
