She went to Englewood Grade School, then attended Cleo Springs High School, graduating from Ringwood High School with the class of 1935. On February 29, 1936 Edythe married J.R. “Jack” Foster. They lived in rural Cleo Springs, then moved to farm west of Ringwood in 1940, where she and Jack lived and farmed until 1974. They then built a home and moved to Ringwood. Edythe was an active lady and participated in many community and church activities. She was often teased and called “Mother Superior” as well as accused of running the town of Ringwood. Some of Edythe’s many achievements include: President of Major County Extension Homemakers, was instrumental in establishing the M.A.R.C. senior Center in Ringwood, being president of the board, was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid and was a member of the NODA Board of Directors. Edythe was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ringwood.

She was a wonderful Mom, Grandma, friend and cook. She took with her the recipe for “delicious noodles” and homemade bread.

Her Ringwood UMC activities were many. As a member, she served on several church boards and was President of UMW. Anything that needed done, she saw that it happened. Her family was always very important. She saw that each one was loved and cared for.

Those who remain to cherish Edythe’s memory are her children, Roger Foster of Clinton, Carol Grimes and husband, Joe of Springfield, Missouri and Irene Lanman of Helena; grandchildren, Valerie Schelinski and husband, Joel, Gerald Stricker and wife, Brenda, David Grimes, Lt Cmdr Mica Foster and Emily Foster; grand son-in-law, Kendall Decker and wife, Debbie; great grandchildren, Matthew Decker and wife, Sara, Amy Decker, Sarah Provine and husband, James, Olivia Decker, John Decker and Christen, Jeremiah Decker, Kacey Ferguson and husband, K.C., Kassidy Stricker and Clayton, Ty Stricker, Jessica McLean and husband, Charles, Derek Ratzlaff and wife, Cassidy; great-great grandchildren, Karleigh Decker, Brooke and Korbin Ferguson, Jayson Boehm, Kirstyn, Wyatt and Lilly Ratzlaff, Dulany and Madison Anderson, Tanis and Elrik Schelinski.
