George COX, of Ringwood, Okla., was born of English parents in Hartlepool, England, in the year 1842. He was one of a large family of hard working people.

The first ten years of his life was spent in his native land and in 1852 he moved with his parents to Montreal, Canada. His boyhood days were full of hard work and little play.

At the age of twenty-three he married Miss Annie McTAGGART, who like himself was a native of the old countyr and among the early settlers of Canada.

To this union was born a daughter, Christine COX, now Mrs. HUGHES, of Ringwood.

In 1868, Mr. COX, wife & daughter, moved to Greenleaf, Kansas, settler (sic) up on a claim and reared the following children: George A. COX and Archibald COX, both of Ringwood; Thomas COX, deceased; John A COX, Wichita, Kans; Mrs. Mamie BEACH Beaver, Okla.; Pearl Frances WEBB deceased; Mrs Mabel GLASCOW, Oklahoma City.

In 1901 he & family came to Oklahoma and settled eight miles northwest of Ringwood where he lived until his declining years made it necessary to leave the farm.

His last few years were lived in Ringwood where he has been among friends & relatives until the early hours of April the 21st, when he passed quietly out of this life.

Mr. COX has been known all his life as a har working, honest man, making many & lasting friends. He became affliated with the Baptist Church in middle life & remained as such until late in life he became a Methodist.

In addition to a host of friends, he leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Mrs. Geo. COX; 3 daughters, Mrs. Christine HUGES, Mrs Mamie BEACH & Mrs. Mabel GLASCOW; 3 sons, Geo. A COX, Archibald B. COX & John A COX; two brothers, Jack & Joseph COX; 4 sisters, Mrs Frances STRANGE, Mrs Mary STANIFF, Jennie FRANCES (not sure if this is a middle or surname) & Margaret SCHWERDTFEGER.

Mr. COX has been confined to his home for many many months & has suffered greatly at times. His patient Christian life will shed its influence for years to come. "Blessed are those who die in the Lord."
