March 19, 1939 ~ January 13, 2019

Barbara Elaine Bowman, age 79 passed away on Sunday 1/13/19. A memorial service will be held at the Cleo Springs Nazarene Church on Friday 1/18/19 at 12:00. A small family luncheon will be served prior to the service. Visitation to follow service.

She is preceded in death by husband Delmer, parents Carl and Annabelle

Barbara, the daughter of Carl and Annabelle Rich was born at Alva General Hospital on March 19, 1939. She was raised on the family farm in the Oakdale area. Barbara attended the Community Elementary School and transferred to Cleo Springs in the 8th grade. She attended Cleo Springs 8th through 12th grade, graduating May of 1957.

Barbara enjoyed sports: playing basketball through high school, continuing to softball in a women’s league as well as, playing mixed league volleyball with Delmer throughout her adult years. Along with playing sports, she was also a faithful supporter of school sports teams. She was an avid rodeo participant alongside her dad through her childhood in several rodeo events. She also was a member of 4H for 6 years.

United in marriage to Delmer L. Bowman of Cleo Springs in May 1956, this union resulted with three children.

She is survived by her children Rickie Ray Bowman and wife Pat, Rex Lester Bowman and wife Karen, and Ronda Kay Bowman-Olson and husband Steve, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and her sister Maribelle Dimmick and other extended family members.

She continued her education graduating from Licensed Practical Nursing School in 1972 going on to beginning her career as an LPN at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa Oklahoma in Pediatrics. She enjoyed nursing and continued her career working with elderly long term care, hospital surgery transport and a variety of group homes throughout the years.
