Peggy Lou (Shoemaker) Prochaska
October 24, 1939 ~ January 31, 2023 (age 83)

Peggy (Unruh) Prochaska was born October 24, 1939 to Carl Shoemaker Sr. and Mildred Watkins Shoemaker in Cleo Springs and passed from this life on January 31, 2023 in Enid.

Peggy married Vernon Unruh on June 2, 1956 and to this union five children were born: Sandra Wiens (Bert) of Lahoma, Greg Unruh (Debra) of Belpre, Ohio, Lonnie Unruh of Covington, Connie McMahan (Troy) of Meno, and Kent Unruh of Venice, Florida.

Through Peggy's lifetime she was a housewife, mother, co-owner of the Curve Cafe in Cleo Springs, custodian for Monroe and Glenwood Schools in Enid, and Lahoma Public School. Peggy and Vernon owned Wood Creations in Lahoma until retiring. Vernon passed away on January 19, 2005.

Peggy married Jimmie Prochaska in March 2007. Both husbands preceded Peggy in death, along with her parents, Carl and Mildred Shoemaker; brothers, Carl Shoemaker and Gary Shoemaker; sisters, Glenda Hardin, Annette Baragree, Helen DeBusk, and Sue Patterson.

Survivors of Peggy include her five children; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren, and her brothers, Donald Shoemaker and Roger Shoemaker.

Graveside service for Peggy will be Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. at Square Cedar Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Viewing will be Friday from10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be given to Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church through the funeral home.
