Visitation with the family is 4-6 p.m. today, March 1, 2017, at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mary was born to Gerrad and Lucille Edna (Thomas) Dougherty Jan. 10, 1928, in Lamont, and went to be with her Lord Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, in Enid. Mary graduated from Lamont High School in 1946. On May 24, 1947, she married Harry George Smith in Enid. Mary devoted her life to raising her children. She was a very caring and helpful person, but not afraid to show her spunky side. She was loved by all. Mary enjoyed working outside, and taking care of her neighbors.

She is survived by her five children: Larry Smith and wife Beverly of Tonkawa; Darrel Smith and wife Kim of Moore; Carolyn Burnett and husband Verlin of Lahoma; Cherlyn Carpenter and Marvin of Enid; and Deborah Darby and husband Rory of Ferndale, Wash.; brother, George Dougherty of Lamont; sister, Emma Woods of Blackwell; 12 grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry, three sisters, and one brother.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love.
