Joyce Evelyn Chandler Pruitt

Joyce Evelyn Pruitt a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the age of 85 years 2 months and 11 days. She was born in Claremore, Oklahoma on Friday, July 29, 1927 to Bine and Pearl (Brown) Chandler. Joyce married John Pruitt Jr. in Claremore, Oklahoma on June 30, 1945.

Joyce Pruitt worked for the McBride Clinic in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for over 25 years.She loved gardening, cooking, working puzzles, reading and especially cleaning. But she especially enjoyed spending time with her family when she could.

Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her son, John D. Pruitt III and wife Kathi of Durant, Oklahoma; grandaughter, Jacki Pruitt and John Dobbs of Boulder Junction, Wisconsin; grandsons, Jeff Dilbeck and wife Sky of Moore, Oklahoma and Sam Dilbeck and wife Julie of Corcicana, Texas; great grandchildren, Jason, David, Max, Campbell, Landry and Jones; nieces, Linda Kendrick and husband Willie of Wichita, Kansas and Kathy Dalrymple of Madison Park, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Pruitt was preceded in death by her parents, Bine and Pearl Chandler; husband, John D. Pruitt, Jr.; brother, James Chandler; sisters, Beulah Chandler, Thelma Bacon and Katherine Hagan.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Oklahoma with Bro. Sam Dilbeck officiating.
