Funeral Services for Thelma Fae Hinchey, 80 of Stillwater formerly of Enid, will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Garriott Road Church of Christ in Enid. The Reverend Vance Smith will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Meno, Oklahoma. Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Thelma Fae Hinchey was born July 22, 1930 to John C. and Rena (Brobst) Major in Belva, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Fairview Fellowship Home Fairview, Oklahoma.

Thelma worked at several businesses in Fairview saving tip money for nursing school and following her high school graduation in 1948, attended the Enid General Hospital School of Nursing, which she graduated as a Registered Nurse on September 6, 1951. She married Cleo L. Hinchey, Sept. 1, 1951 in Fairview, Oklahoma at the Major County Court House. Thelma then began her nursing career that covered Enid, Henryetta, Okmulgee, Fairview, OK, and McAllen, TX. Thelma and Cleo was blessed with two boys. Thelma was very proud of being a nurse and worked as a nurse for many years. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Paul and wife Connie Hinchey of Anadarko and Chris and wife Debbie Hinchey of Stillwater; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Robert Stanley of Yukon, Jamie and husband Darren Cavett of Canton; six great grandchildren, Sydney, Jillian, Gracelynn, Harrison Stanley and Baustin and Carson Cavett; one brother Willis and wife Lynette Major of Ringwood; two sisters, Joyce and husband Bill Henkel of Cuba, MO and Gwen"Sue" Campbell of Hidalgo, TX along with many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cleo, parents John C. and Rena Major; two brothers, John C. (Jake) Major and Kenneth Major; and two sisters, Virginia Clow and Edna Mae Bowman.

Memorials may be made to OMRF Cancer Division with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
