A celebration of the life of Barton Clowdus, age 78, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Garriott Road Church of Christ, Enid, with Ray Rose and Jim Hitt officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Meno, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Bart Clowdus passed away August 9, 2014. Bart was born on January 31, 1936 in Olustee, Oklahoma to Essie (Thrash) and Bill Clowdus. He grew up in Oklahoma and Texas and moved to Stockton, California after graduating from high school. He attended College of the Pacific and received an AA degree in electronics technology. He married Carmen Borges in August 1956 in Stockton and adopted Carmen's son, Steve. Bart and Carmen had a son, Barton Jr., and a daughter, Stephanie. They lived in Stockton until 1974, when they moved to Livermore, California. Bart was a manager and a commercial fisherman. Carmen passed away in 1996. Bart married Doris Brakebill in 1997 and they moved to Enid, Oklahoma 2005.

Bart was an elder at the Garriott Road Church of Christ in Enid and was a deeply religious man.

Bart was predeceased by his parents, brothers Foy and Lloyd, and Sammie Kincannon, who was like a sister to him. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, of Enid; children Steve Gilbert of Knightstown, IN, Bart (Lisa) Clowdus, Jr. of Livermore, CA and Stephanie (Chris) Jones of Lilburn, GA; grandsons Louis and Blake Jones of Atlanta, GA; niece LaNelle (Don) Mueller of Meno; nephew, Lynn (Eileen) Clowdus of Meno;, step-children Tom Brakebill, Debbie Brakebill, David (Tim) Brakebill, Cheryl (Scott) Hansen; step-grandchildren Amanda, Danny, Heidi, Erik, Jesse, Corey and Nick; three step-great-grandchildren Skylar, Varilyn, and Connor; and dear friends Richard and Donnita Kliewer, and Ray Rose.

The funeral for Doris Clowdus, age 81, will be at 10:00 AM Monday, June 22, 2015, at Garriott Road Church of Christ, with Mr. Ray Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno. Visitation with the family will be Sunday 4:30 to 6:00 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Doris was born to Ernest and Emma (Neff) Parks on April 10, 1934 in Ohio, and passed away Friday, June 12, 2015, in Reno, Nevada after a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by husbands Jess Brakebill and Bart Clowdus; daughter Carolyn Brakebill; brother Raymond Parks, Jr.; and parents E.R. “Ernie” and Emma Parks.

Doris is survived by sons Tom Brakebill and David (Tim) Brakebill; daughter Cheryl (Scott) Hansen; stepchildren: Stephanie (Chris) Jones, Bart (Lisa) Clowdus, Jr., and Steve Gilbert; daughter-in-law Debbie Brakebill. She had seven grandchildren: Nick (Breann) Noda, Corey (Henry) Martinez, Jesse Noda, Danny (Emily) Brakebill, Amanda (Robbie) Brakebill, Erik Hansen, and Heidi (Ryan) Schuett; two step-grandsons: Louis and Blake Jones; two great-granddaughters, Skylar and Valoryn; and great-grandson Connor. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
