January 28, 1941 - January 22, 2019

Funeral services for Garoldene Mae Bowers, 77, of Longdale, will be at 1:30 P.M., Monday, January 28, 2019 at Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Orion Cemetery west of Fairview. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home INC.

Garoldene Mae Bowers was born January 28, 1941 to Newton and Offie (Starbuck) Fuqua. She grew up on a farm Northeast of Waynoka. She passed away January 22, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Garoldene married Black Bowers on July 6, 1958. They were blessed with four children: Gary Don, Ronda Kay, Dawson Dean, and Timothy Gene.

She was a homemaker and a dairy farmer’s wife, working side-by-side her husband Black on their farm, west of Fairview, until the time of her death. She and Black built the home they lived in. She raised a big garden while her kids were growing up and later loved tending her flowers. Garoldene was a member of the Longdale Community Church and a longstanding member of the Orion Homemakers OHCE. She enjoyed creating things with her embroidery sewing machine and loved to make quilts.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Black, sisters: Betty, Beverly and Annitta and brothers: Lloyde, John and Albert.

Surviving her are her children; Gary and Tracey Bowers, Ronda and David Frech, Dawson and Tammy Bowers and Tim and Tracey Bowers, grandchildren: Darinda Frech, Drew and McKenzee Frech, Kelsey and Chad Johnson, Brandon Bowers, Darin and Jessica Frech, Erin Adair, Ryan and Joy Bowers, Hope Bowers, Blake Bowers and Balyn Bowers and great grandchildren: Bri, Madison, and Audrey Adair, Jett, Tinley and Graham Johnson, Keegen, Mac, Paicee, Sutton and Devri Frech, Hartley and Dawson Bowers, brothers: Raymond Fuqua and Norman Fuqua, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials can be made to Okeene Hospital or the Longdale Community Church with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
