Orion Cemetery


ENID — Graveside service for Wilbur D. Ake will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at Orion Cemetery in Chester , Okla., with the Rev. Jerry Holt officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Wilbur was born May 26, 1942, to Ernest and Ethel Jenkins Ake in Chester . He died July 7, 2010, at his home in Enid.

He worked awhile for the city of Enid and later did odd jobs for other people around the community. He loved fishing and when he couldn't go fishing anymore, he watched old movies. He was very welcoming and had lots of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Wilbur is survived by two daughters, Maxine Ruiz of Canton and Donna Presley of Seiling; one son, Dustin Ake of Mustang; sister, Norma Davis and husband Lyndon of Enid; two brothers, Floyd Ake of Seiling, Larry Ake and wife Becky of Watonga; as well as nine grandchildren.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the Orion Cemetery Fund.
