Hazle Schwind ENID — Funeral services for Hazle Guyline Crawford Schwind, 80, Enid, were held Monday, May 12, 2008 at 10 a.m. in Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Marney officiating. Burial followed in Ames Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Hazle was born on August 16, 1927, in Ames, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lester and Ernestine Shook Crawford and died May 10, 2008, at her home.

She left this world to be with her loving husband Novah Schwind. She was raised and educated in Ames, Oklahoma and graduated from Ames High School in 1945. Hazle married her high school sweetheart, Novah Schwind on May 12, 1946 in Fairview, Oklahoma. Hazle, who was a member of the Ames Order of Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxilary and Home Extension Club, worked for the Enid Telephone Company, Newman's Department Store office, the Major and Garfield County Election Board. She worked side by side with her husband, Novah in the farming business. In 1976, Novah and Hazle opened the Novah Schwind Radio Shop. After Novah's death, Hazle operated the store until 2003. Hazle and Novah played, worked and danced together. Hazle and Novah influenced three young men's lives, Hazle's brother, Teddy, who lived with them from 1st through 8th grades, Buck Campos and wife Jill Campos of Oxford, Mississippi, and Junior Kelley of Lake Texhoma. After Novah's death in March of 2000, Hazle lived with Teddy and Karen until her death.

Hazle is survived by four brothers, Jimmy Crawford and wife Jo Ann of Enid, Bill Crawford and wife Pat of Duke, Oklahoma, Bob Crawford and wife Louise of Ames, Teddy Crawford and wife Karen of Enid; two sisters, Twila Nusz and husband Jim of Okeene, Oklahoma and Caroleen Clester and husband Bob of Okeene, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Rita Crawford of Enid; and one brother-in-law, Holly Moler of Enid; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Novah, Hazle was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Dean and one sister, Edith.
