Waldo Mac McDowell

A memorial service for Waldo Mac Mcdowell, 78, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 at the Central Christian Church with the Rev. Brent Haworth presiding. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Waldo MacDowell was born February 6, 1927, in Ames, Okla. to Waldo Fredrick and Agnes (Durgan) McDowell and passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at his home in Fairview, Okla.

Mac grew up in Ames and attended the Ames High School until he joined the U.S. Navy at the young age of 17. He then spent the next four years servicing his country during WW II and receiving an honorable discharge.

After the war Mac became a truck driver and spent the rest of his life behind th wheel of an eighteen wheeler. He worked for many companies during his life to include Hamm and Phillips and before retiring he worked for Pete Eischen.

In Marcy 28, 1978 he married Billie Faye (Rhodes) Wilson and they made their home in Fairview. He was active in the American Legion and was a member of the Central Christian Church. Mac was very well loved by all he knew and will be truly missed.

Mac is survived by his wife Billie of the home; two daughters, Vickie Otwell and husband Terry of Fairview, Okla., and Brenda of Enid; two sons, Larry Jack Tony and wife Debbie of Enid, Okla., and Richard Wilson and wife Karen of Pryor, Okla.; and one daughter-in-law Vicki Wilson of Lahoma; one brother, Eddie McDowell and his wife Sue of Enid; three sisters, Donna Hammock of Enid, Glenna Simpson and husband Jim of Helena, Montana, and Veta Muns and husband Mike, of San Antonio, Texas, 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Joyce, two sons Curtis and Billy Joe Wilson, and two great grandchildren Jayse Freelove and Jaydrien Cox.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Hospice Circle of Love or OMRF cancer division.
