Ferrol F. Coppock was born at Winfield, Kansas on May 15, 1926, to Charles Edwin and Roxy DeVore Fox. She departed this life on October 15, 2018, at Fairview, Oklahoma. When Ferrol was young, the family moved several times, settling in Arkansas City, Kansas, where Ferrol attended grade school and junior high school and graduated from high school in 1943. The family moved to Douglass, Kansas. Ferrol graduated from Ark City Junior College in 1946. She graduated from Phillips University at Enid, Oklahoma in 1948 with a BS degree in education.

While at Phillips she met Herbert Coppock, who was just returning from serving with the Navy and resuming college. Ferrol taught school at Winfield, Kansas, for the next four years while Herb finished his degree in geology at Phillips. She and Herb wrote each other each day, called one another each Saturday, and got to go visit once a month. Ferrol and Herb were married at Douglass, Kansas, on July 27, 1952, and moved to a farm northeast of Cherokee, Oklahoma, where they lived for the next 35 years, farming and raising their three children: Brent, Melody and Eric. They were active members of Friends (Quaker) Church, serving in several positions. Ferrol taught Sunday School juniors and vacation Bible school for many years.

They began Herb Coppock Construction, a heavy equipment company in 1966. Ferrol kept the office for the next 20 years until they sold the business and moved to Windmill Creek Ranch in 1986. Life was never dull. Herb had soloed an airplane as a teenager after only 1.4 hours of instruction instead of the usual 16 hours. The family enjoyed flying with several different planes. One day, early in their marriage, Herb landed his J3 Cub on the alfalfa field by the house, and could not get it to restart. He had Ferrol sit in the cockpit and push the throttle in while he spun the prop by hand. Her quick one minute of flight instruction didn't include how far or how fast to push the throttle in. The end result was after nearly hitting Herb, Ferrol almost took off before God helped Herb catch her and get the plane shut down as she was about to take off. The family story was that Ferrol almost soloed with even far less instruction time than Herb had. Ferrol joked later that she knew that being married to Herb Coppock would be a wild ride, but she didn't know how literal that would be.

They retired in 1990, sold the ranch and moved to Fairview, Oklahoma. Herb and Ferrol enjoyed traveling in an RV and spent seven winters at Padre Island, Texas, until Herb's death in 1998.

Ferrol enjoyed taking bus tours and visiting her sons' families in California and Minnesota. She worked in her yard, with both flowers and vegetables, and enjoyed water gardening.

She was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Fairview and enjoyed quilting with the WMS ladies. She was a member of Home Extension Groups for nearly 60 years, starting with the Cherokee Farmerettes. She also enjoyed quilting clubs. She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
