New Hopedale Cemetery


Bernice Ruth Unruh, 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Cimarron Pointe Nursing Home in Mannford, OK. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral home of Perry and a graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at New Hopedale Mennonite Church Cemetery in Meno, OK.

Bernice was born on January 18, 1928 to Joseph T Jantz and Ida (Wedel) Jantz on the farm near Meno, OK.

She married Olen Ivan Unruh on October 18, 1945 in Wellington, Kansas.

After Olen’s tour of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, they made their first home near Conroe Texas, where he worked for Humble Oil Co. Then in 1960, they moved to their new farm in Noble County near Perry, OK where she worked at the bank and was a loving wife and mother for over 40 years.

Survivors include her husband, Olen; son, Gary and wife, Theresa Unruh of Yale, OK; three grandsons, Jeremey Unruh and wife, Corie and their children Kennedy and Parker of Ottumwa, Iowa , Brad Unruh and wife, Kayla of Blackwell, OK, Jon Pritchett and wife, Paloma; one sister, Emaline (Jantz) Smith of Enid, OK; one brother, Clayton Jantz and wife, Laura of Meno, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother, and two sons, Steven and Spencer.
