On September 11, 1927 Lorraine was born to Albert and Lindy Smith on a farmstead near Montezuma, KS and went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2010 in Medford, OK. When she was a young girl, her family moved to DeRidder, LA and during the Depression worked as truck farmers. Later in life, she worked for City Savings Bank as a bookkeeper and also for the family owned business, Highland Growers. Her aunt set her up on a blind date with a farmer from OK, Herman Smith. They married three months later on March 16, 1952. Herman and Lorraine farmed and ran a dairy for over 20 years and enjoyed 31 years of marriage until he passed away on December 16, 1982. After Herman died, she moved to Enid and soon became a member of the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. Later she met and married Ray Bacon and moved to Perryton, TX until his death in May 2000. She moved back to Oklahoma and lived in Goltry for five years until she went to the nursing home.

Lorraine is survived by two daughters: Cindy Buller and husband Bobby of Goltry, OK and Rita St John and husband John of Haysville, KS; six grandchildren: Mandy Buller of Midwest City, OK, Megan Buller of Ark City, KS, Christy Buller of Stillwater, OK; Katie, J.J. and Jesse St John of Haysville, KS.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Loretta Sue, her parents, four brothers, Arnold, Dennis, Kenneth and Warren Smith.

Memorials may be made to the Servant Living Center of Medford, OK with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com.
