New Hopedale Cemetery


Celebration of Life for Arnold Jantzen, 92, of Meno, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at New Hopedale Mennonite Church, Meno, OK, with Pastor James Suderman officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, 2800 N. Van Buren, in Enid.

He passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016, in Enid, OK. Arnold was born in Nowata, OK, to William and Katie Jantzen on March 30, 1924. He was united in marriage to Phyllis June Becker on September 28, 1946, in the New Hopedale Mennonite Church, Meno, OK. They had four children, Sharon, Gary, ?Greta and Deadra. Phyllis preceded him in death on June 8, 1997. He married Lavona Franz of Wichita, KS, on March 11, 2000. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher in Major County, Oklahoma. He was a member of New Hopedale Mennonite Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Arnold is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis; his daughter Greta, who died January 1, 1998; parents William and Katie Jantzen; brothers Lloyd, Jacob and Earl; and sister Edna Eck.

Arnold is survived by his wife Lavona of Wichita, KS; his daughter Sharon and her husband Bruce Ediger, Nathrop, CO; his son Gary Jantzen and his wife Darlene, Meno, OK; son-in-law Randy Marlatt and his wife Donna of Enid, OK; and daughter Deadra and her husband Darrell Ediger, Dalton, OH; sister Pearl Unruh, California; and 13 grandchildren, their spouses and 28 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to New Hopedale Mennonite Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
