Clayton Jantz

Jul 26, 1922 - Oct 9, 2016

The funeral service for Clayton Jantz, 94, is 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at New Hopedale Mennonite Church, Meno, with burial at New Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Helena. Viewing is 10 a.m.-7 p.m. today, Oct. 12, 2016.

Clayton was born July 26, 1922, on the family farm, northwest of Meno, where he lived his entire life. On July 25, 1952, Clayton married Laura Pjesky. Laura was the love of his life, and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage. They were blessed with one son, Byron.

The Jantz family worked hard together to build a dairy, which has provided a loving home to countless Holstein cows, and cats, for many years.

Clayton was a member of the New Hopedale Mennonite Church, where he served as usher. While farming, Clayton also drove the Meno Grade School bus for 11 years.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph T. and Ida Wedal Jantz; six sisters, Dessie Jantzen, Ella Payne, Minnie Headrick, Ruby Randolph, Emmaline Smith and Bernice Unruh; and one brother, Lee Jantz.

He is survived by his wife, Laura and son, Byron, both of Meno; the family dog, "Buster," and a host of other family and friends.

Memorials may be made to New Hopedale Mennonite Church through the funeral home.
