Walter Montgomery Wilmott was born November 1, 1918 in Wood Dale, Oklahoma to Laymont and Bessa Cluff Wilmott and died February 26, 2002 in Fairview Hospital, Fairview Oklahoma. Services were held Thursday February 28, 2002 in the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Richard Redinger officiating. Burial was in Roscoe Cemetery near Fairview Oklahoma. Arrangements were done by Fairview Funeral Home.
He lived most of his life in Major County and graduated from Cheyenne Valley High School. Walter proudly served his country during WWll in Cll 74th Engineering Corps from 1941 to 1945. After his discharge from the Army, he worked on a Seismograph crew, farmed and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 29 years before retirement.
He married Evelyn Maxine Stiles in Fairview on September 21, 1948.
Walter is survived by his wife, Evelyn Maxine Wilmott ; one daughter Stasha Dayton and her husband Ronald; one grandson Corey Wayne Dayton all of Fairview Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
